Description

Course Description

This course provides a general overview of the community services industry and prepares students for employment as community workers.

Certificate II in Community Services is a portable qualification that can lead onto further training in the community services sector

Contribution to the VCE

The VCE VET Community Services program provides a Unit 1-4 sequence for satisfactory completion purposes.

Students undertaking this program are eligible for credit of up to five VCE VET units on their VCE Statement of Results: up to three units at Unit 1-2 level (depending on the electives chosen) and two units at 3-4 level.

Students may accumulate VCE VET units over more than one year.

This certificate will satisfy learning outcomes for the industry specific skills and work related skills strands in the VCAL program is a Scored Assessed program.

Industry Involvement

There is a strong industry involvement focus. Students are required to perform a work placement in the community services sector.
