Materials that are to be brought to class are to be purchased from the SWTAFE bookshop.

Dress Code

Solid enclosed footwear - NOT runners (Steel capped work boots are best)

Cotton clothing - NOT tracksuit pants / NO nylon

Long pants - Jeans are ideal but they MUST NOT have frayed edges

Long sleeved shirt or top

A pair of overalls is the best option, but not compulsory

Description

Course Description

Certificate II in Automotive is a pre-vocational program designed to introduce students to automotive theory culture. It provides a solid foundation in the practical skills required to successfully gain an apprenticeship in the automotive industry.

Contribution to the VCE

On the completion of the Certificate II program, students are eligible for credit of up to four VCE VET units on their VCE statement of results. Two of these units are at 1-2 level and two are at 3-4 level.

This certificate will satisfy learning outcomes for the industry specific skills and work related skills strands in the VCAL program.

Pathways

This course has been designed to articulate with a number of TAFE certificates, such as Motorsport, Light vehicle, and/or Automotive Mechanical Apprenticeship.
