A VALUABLE SKILL FOR ANY WORKPLACE

Learn to test portable electrical appliances and equipment

In many workplaces, portable electrical appliances and equipment must be tested and inspected on a regular basis. Having the necessary skills to do this is essential in certain workplace roles. Designed for non-electrical tradespeople, this course will give you hands-on training so that you can maintain, test and tag portable electrical appliances yourself.

NOTE: Training revolves around the correct use of a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT tester).  Participants who wish to test and tag at the conclusion of this course will need to buy one.  SWTAFE will provide PATs during your training.   If you or your organisation already own a PAT tester, it is recommend to bring it for the duration of the course so you can train on the equipment you have.  If you do not own one, your teacher can give you advice regarding a purchase.”
