- You must complete a compulsory pre-training review and language, literacy and numeracy quiz (PTR/LLN) before attending class.

Prior to your enrolment a PTR/LLN review will be conducted with you to confirm that the course you are seeking to enrol into meets your individual needs. The link will be emailed to you upon your booking.

- You must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to enrol in an accredited course. You can apply or get more information at www.usi.gov.au.

- Photo identification (including your date of birth) must be provided at the training

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive credit and certification for the following accredited unit from 22499VIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology

CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

You will also receive a South West TAFE Certificate of Completion, which is valid as an “interim card” for 60 days from the date of training. A Construction Induction card will then be directly issued to you by WorkSafe, within this 60 day period.

Materials to Bring

Pen and notepaper.

Photo identification (including your date of birth).

Note: You cannot be issued with a Construction Induction card from WorkSafe, without South West TAFE sighting your photo identification.

INTENDING TO WORK IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY?

Get job ready with mandatory occupational, health and safety induction training.

Effective 1 July 2008, if you work or are intending to work in the construction industry, occupational health and safety induction training is mandatory. This course covers the skills and knowledge required to work safely in the construction industry and is specifically designed to meet the requirements for registration and card issue by WorkSafe.

At the end of the training you will be required to demonstrate knowledge of OHS legislative requirements, the basic principles of risk management, and how to prevent injuries and illness in the workplace.

Content

How to identify:

  • OHS legislative requirements
  • Construction hazards and control measures
  • OHS communication and reporting processes
  • OHS incident response procedures

Accreditation

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive credit and certification for the following accredited unit from 22499VIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology:

Pre-training Review

You must complete a compulsary pre-training review before attending class.

Failure to complete will incur a $20 administration fee for a booking cancellation or transfer.
