Prerequisites

Photo identification (including your date of birth).

What You Learn

Basic skills within drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture using a range of mediums and techniques.

What You Get

Introduction to the basic creative skills in the four studio areas of drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Confidence in creating multiple finished artistic works that display a good use of design elements over a 8-week duration.

Non Accredited Training

This course is non-accredited which means no Unit of Competency is completed, no assessment is required and no Statement of Attainment will be issued.    Students will receive a Certificate of Attendance to acknowledge their participation.

Materials to Bring

Photo identification (including your date of birth).Pen and notepaper.Brushes.Plastic plate or tray for use as a palette.

Dress Code

Enclosed shoes and an art smock or clothes that can get dirty.

In our fully equipped art studio

Join our experienced trainer to help develop your creative skills in the following areas; drawing, printmaking, painting and sculpture in a supportive environment, using a range of materials and techniques.

Content

Basic drawing techniques:

  • Realistic use of tone to model form
  • Exploration of the energy of line
  • Mark making
  • Balance and composition

Basic printing techniques:

  • Mono printing

Basic painting techniques:

  • Expressive use of paint
  • Exploration of texture
  • Exploration of the acrylic medium
  • Use of colour

Basic sculpture techniques:

  • Creating 3 dimensional forms
