NOTE: You must complete a compulsory pre-training review and language, literacy and numeracy quiz (PTR/LLN) before attending class.

Please Note:  If a student fails any component of the assessment, either Practical or Theory, it maybe necessary to undertake a re-assessment at a future date.   Any student requiring re-assessment will incur costs associated with providing this re-assessment depending on potential travel and Teacher time required.

What You Learn

This is a short course program designed to give the learner skills and knowledge to safely and competently operate a Front end loader in the Civil Construction Industry.The course will involve a mix of theory and practical elements with a need for the learner to operate a Front end loader in their own workplace and fill in a log book to record operating hours. Once a minimum number of hours have been met the trainee will be assessed in their workplace to determine competency.There will also be the opportunity for operators who already have sufficient current experience to be assessed in order to formalise their existing knowledge and skills

Description

The program will involve an initial one day training session with the assessor in the employee’s workplace which will be a mix of theory and practical training. This will be followed by the employee spending time on the machine (a recommended 144 hours) in the workplace performing various tasks as the workplace dictates under supervision of a suitable person. All details to be recorded in a log book and signed off by the employee’s supervisor. This will then be followed up by a second visit to the workplace where the student will be assessed to determine competence.For experienced operators who already have considerable skills and do not require further training there will be the opportunity to undertake the assessment component of the course. For these operators a list of assessment tasks will be given to them prior to assessment so they fully understand what we be expected during the assessment. They will also need to provide third party verification of at least 160 hours operation of an front end loader.

Pre-training Review - you must complete a compulsory pre-training review before attending class.

Prior to your enrolment a pre-training review will be conducted with you to confirm that the course you are seeking to enrol into meets your individual needs. The link will be emailed to you upon your booking. Failure to complete will incur a $20 administration fee for a booking cancellation or transfer.
