Day 1: Coffee Making 9:00am - 12:00pm & Food and Beverage Service 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Day 2: Food Handling 9:00am - 5:00pm

Day 3: Responsible Service of Alcohol 9:00am - 1:00pm

Prerequisites

You must be at least 15 years of age.

Enrolment Requirements:

Priority Attention to the enrolment process is required.   By purchasing a place in this course you agree to complete the enrolment process 48 hours before course commencement, so we able to process your enrolment and issue you with a username and password, for you able to access the online learning content.

- You must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to enrol in an accredited course. You can apply or get more information at www.usi.gov.au.

Dress Code

It is recommended that participants wear soft soled flat, enclosed shoes and clean comfortable clothing. Long hair should be tied up.

Description

Learn how to legally serve alcohol in Victoria

If you want to work in a licensed venue or apply for a liquor licence in Victoria, you’ll need a Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. This course will give you all knowledge you’ll need to achieve an RSA certificate from Liquor Control Victoria (LCV) and accreditation for the Nationally Recognised Accredited Unit - SITHFAB021 - Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol. 

When you finish this course, you’ll understand the legal requirements of serving alcohol in Victoria. You’ll also have learned about the major problems around excessive consumption of alcohol, under-age drinking, drinking and driving and serving alcohol outside of legal hours.

If you successfully pass the assessment, you will receive a Statement of Attainment and be emailed a RSA Certificate from LCV.

PROFESSIONAL FOOD HANDLING

Gain a food handling qualification

Victoria’s food industry is strictly governed by a set of regulations, including the Food Act 1984. Anybody who works with food or runs a food-related business needs to be familiar with the relevant standards. This short course is designed around these standards to meet the requirements of the Food Act 1984.

Successful completion of this course will make you appropriately qualified to work in a food handling environment.

Accreditation

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive credit and certification for the following accredited unit from SIT30821 - Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

ESSENTIAL BARISTA SKILLS

Making good coffee takes training and lots of practice. Recommended to those looking for work in cafés, restaurants or bistros, this course will give you the skills and knowledge to make perfect coffee that looks great, and is!

Learn the art of making coffee, including operating and cleaning an espresso machine; the different varieties of coffee; how it is roasted and blended; and how to correctly store coffee beans.

SUPERIOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE SKILLS

This course is ideal for anyone wanting to gain valuable skills for use in the hospitality industry and is suitable for job seekers. It is designed to instruct participants on the fundamentals of customer service within the food and beverage industry, enabling employees to deliver a superior, dining experience increasing customer satisfaction and encouraging pride in the workplace.

The aims of the course are:
